World of Warcraft - Item Upgrade

These upgrades can be utilized for a variety of reasons for example, to increase the overall power of a group or individual unit. They can also affect the overall the gameplay.
Any item upgrader NPC can be located in the game. These NPCs are located in the major questing areas or capital cities. You can also find upgrades for items by visiting dungeons that have high-level bosses, and speaking to NPCs in garrisons of your faction.
The World of Warcraft item upgrade system allows players to increase the level of their weapons, armor, and trinkets. The process is similar to the process of reforging gear in Mists of Pandaria and Warlords of Draenor however instead of using the currency that is appropriate players must visit an item upgrader NPC to complete the process.
Upgrades can be costly, especially for weapons and armor. Based on the upgrade path you choose, each item upgrade can cost Valorstones or Crests. The cost are prohibitive for those who don't have the funds, or are unwilling to grind.

Requirements

Certain upgrade components come with cosmetic effects. Upgrade components can be obtained by crafting, buying from vendors or the Trading Post, looting or receiving them as gifts. Players can also retrieve upgraded items using an Upgrade extractor or salvaging with a high-tier salvage kit. Glyphs that are placed on gathering tools can be freely swapped.
By selecting the item and pressing the green button with a an arrow for rerolling players can reroll it into another upgradeable item. This alters the layout of the item's window and allow players to choose up to six items to "recycle". The item will be replaced by a level 1 item. Rerolled items won't retain their current level or amount of resources needed to upgrade them.
An item's maximum upgrade level is determined by its tier and quality. Rare and Epic items are able to be upgraded to levels of nine, while common items are only upgraded up to level six. Upgrades to items are added to the base statistics of the item and won't increase after a certain point.
