Path of Exile Item Upgrading
In Path of Exile, item upgrading is one of the most effective ways to upgrade your gear without relying upon large-ticket drops or trade. This article will teach you how to upp your items effectively.
Upgrades to equipment give an increase in the item's stats. This bonus scales with the upgrade component level and rarity.
Components
Upgrade components are the parts that improve your armor and weapons better. They can be found by destroying enemies, buying them from karma sellers or finding them in item-spheres. They can also be salvaged from equipment with them or by using a high-tier salvage kit like the Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. In contrast to other items, upgrade components are not destroyed when they are removed from an item.

Upgrade components are typically used to upgrade an item however, they can also be used for other reasons. They can be stacked in order to increase the level of experience gained from upgrading existing equipment or weapons. They can be forged to give extra bonuses. For example, a created glyph can increase the chances of upgrading its target, while the boost upgrade can increase the attack or defense attribute of a weapon or armor.
You can connect an upgrade template to an item by selecting it from the edition GUI. This will show an upgrade component list that the item can be upgraded to. You can also use the workbench to selecting an upgrade template. In either instance the item will be upgraded when enough upgrade components are collected.
Each component has a unique experience multiplier. This determines how much experience an item can gain when upgraded using the component. Organic components, for example, have an increased multiplier of experience than mechanical components. It is therefore best to upgrade with organic components until you have reached the experience multiplier for the next rank of the equipment or weapon, and then move to mechanical upgrades.
Each item comes with a maximum upgrade number that is available for. The number of upgradeable items is determined by their upgradeable rank and the kind of upgrade they are able to receive. The highest level of upgrade is a weapon of the tier 10. However, the most common weapon upgrades are the tier 6 weapon and an armor upgrade of tier 5.
Sets
A set is a collection of objects which all have the same bonus. Each item can be upgraded at the least once. The upgrade will increase the amount of bonuses you can expect to receive. The first time you upgrade an item, its primary stat will be +1. On subsequent upgrades, primary stats are enhanced even more (for instance +1 for 12+/13+/14+) and each time an item is upgraded one of its stats will increase randomly.
Upgrading a weapon can also increase the damage base, which could be necessary for certain builds. However, weapons are not upgraded to a higher defense base than their normal base. It is possible to increase value of certain sets and unique items by upgrading them, however they may not always be superior to a higher-level Runeword.
If you're upgrading an item that comes with a bonus, the item can be rerolled one time and the guarantee will reset back to 0. Rerolling will cost the same amount of power dice as the process of leveling an item, however the upgraded item will come with different extra bonuses. item upgrader can be completed through the NPC [Armor] Boboko in the Central Flarine. To upgrade an item, you will require the proper amount of Minerals and Erons as well as a power dice of each kind. They can be purchased by using Gold at the crafting table or in the Ultra Collection. The NPC will also offer a special reward for every tier that is completed of the upgrade process. This reward can be rerolled a single time with the same materials as original item.
Rerolling
A player can reroll any item acquired in the game provided they have enough tokens. When an upgraded item gets to be rerolled, it will be exchanged for a level 1 version of the same item in another set. Reroll tokens are sold in the shop for a small sum of in-game currency. They are non-refundable. The upgraded item will still come with the extra bonuses of the first however, its stats will differ also.
Players can alter the identification of their equipment, in addition to rerolling it by interacting with a NPC upgrader. This will change its identification from a weapons to armor or reverse the process. The base requirements and stats remain the same. The change is permanent and will affect all characters that are wearing the gear.
The player can also upgrade the level of the item for any equipped equipment. This is done by talking to an upgrader NPC, and then obtaining upgrade items. It will cost a specific amount of crests as well as Valorstones depending on the upgrade track and item kind. For weapons, each upgrade will add five percent to the damage.
An upgrade will make it more powerful however it can also decrease its quality. It is therefore essential to strike a balance between the two. Certain items might not be worth upgrading however, others will need to be upgraded in order to realize their potential. For example an individual player may decide to upgrade a piece breakpoint armor that has an interesting modifier ( percent chance of blocking or FHR) to discover what it could become.
The main reason people play rerolls in Genshin Impact, or in any gacha-based game is that they're trying to get a specific weapon or character that they aren't able to obtain. These items can be costly and time-consuming to obtain, and the RNG doesn't always play nice. The only other options are to spend real money or grind a lot. For this reason, rerolling is a very popular option in Genshin Impact.
Leveling
You can decide to upgrade the weapon or armor when upgrading an item. However, this feature is absolutely nothing in the current game. I believe that this feature was designed to add some value to rare and expensive items. However, since the majority of items are replaced quite quickly, and it can only be leveled up to a certain level, you will usually replace it before it gets too old. It's not worth it to upgrade items with gem sockets because the power of the gem will be greater than the increase in ilvl with the upgrade.
When you click on the upgrade option on an item, you will get a small screen with the upgrade template for the item and the cost of Valorstone and crest to increase the level of the item. Weapons and armor will have different costs, with the latter usually being more expensive. The upgrade template outlines the stats that will be added to the upgraded item and it also lists the current ilvl.
The cost of the Valorstone and crest is calculated using the current Ilvl of the item as well as the upgrade templates. The ilvl is also reduced by the upgrade templates reduction percentage for lvl. For example an upgrade of 8% will reduce the ilvl of a weapon by 8 to 8%.
In addition to the base ilvl boost, the item will also get upgrades in other stats like critical strike damage, PvE damage and dodge, block and parry rating. Those increases are also built on the upgrade template.
The amount of defense and damage the item receives when leveled up can be shown below the upgrade cost and decrease percentages in the upgrade template window. Aside from equipment for practice, all items and armor get the same stats once upgraded. The value of these stats will be dictated by the market, with a perfectly perfectly rolled version of a weapon or piece of armor able to command much more trade value than non-upp'd versions. The same applies to other armor pieces, such as circlets and tiaras.
